Brake, transmission, exhaust and glass work is often done by specialty shops that see the same job dozens of times a week. Brake shops replace pads and rotors the same day and usually inspect for free; transmission shops rebuild or replace automatics and clutches, a multi-day job that deserves a second quote; muffler and exhaust shops weld custom pipes and replace catalytic converters, which in many states must meet emissions rules. Alignment and suspension shops fix pulling, uneven tire wear and worn shocks, and radiator shops handle overheating and cooling-system leaks. Auto glass shops replace windshields, often at your home or office, and recalibrate the driver-assistance cameras mounted behind the glass. Window tinting and car audio shops round out the group.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (850) 942-1392. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is nationwidetransmission.biz, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 163 reviews, which is a strong result for a transmission shop in Tallahassee and suggests consistent service.

Tallahassee is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Tallahassee is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My daughter's transmission went out of her Infinity the day before she was supposed to drive 13 hours from Missouri. We went ahead and made the trip hoping we could find a shop to fix it. We called 4 different Tallahassee shops and Jeff at Nationwide Transmission was the only one who called us back. He gave us an estimate that was $2300 less than what we were quoted by a reputable small shop in Missouri. Jeff ordered a new transmission on a Friday, Tuesday they started working on it, and by Wednesday afternoon, it was done. Highly recommend Jeff and his crew!

These guys are the only option for transmission repair in Tallahassee! Call up there and ask for Lee, he’ll make sure you’re taken care of. With friendly faces and reasonable pricing, Nationwide will be the only place I’ll take my truck from here on out.

Had a rattle I was nervous about, took my car to another mechanic who charged me $600 to replace the start, then decided they thought it was transmission and sent me to Nationwide. They took a look at it and determined it was just a loose bracket letting my hood arm fall down. They fixed the bracket at no charge and sent me on my way. Would've been easy for them to take advantage of me, suggest some repair that I didn't really need, but they didn't. So rare to find a mechanic, or pretty much anyone in the service industry, who puts honesty above making a buck. I will definitely be bringing all my vehicles to them for any future transmission needs and referring anyone who asks.

Based on the way my car was running it seemed as if the transmission was failing. I took my car to Nationwide transmission with the mindset that I needed the transmission replaced. Jeff whom I was dealing with called me the next day with great news infomimg me that the transmission is fine but the ignition system was the source of the problem. Thank you Jeff for your honesty and professionalism.
